Chuck "Texas Walker" Norris Endorses Newt Gingrich

Chuck Norris, identified this election as the endorsement most sought after by Republicans, says he’s throwing his considerable influence behind the campaign for president in 2012 of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich because “we need a veteran of political war who has already fought Goliath.”

In a new column published on WND, Norris explains he agrees with Gingrich’s statement that there is no enemy this year but Barack Obama.
Gingrich had explained, “We have no opponents except Barack Obama. I think that’s very important.”
“I’m tired of watching our country being torn to shreds by those who think the answer is more government debt and control. I’m tired of being in bondage to a tax system that robs U.S. citizens like the King of England did before the Revolution,” Norris writes.”I’m tired of watching our sovereignty being sold by foreign loans and loose borders. And I will not sit back and merely watch this decay and degradation of the U.S. and then hand it over to my children and grandchildren to deal with.”
In 2008, Norris’ endorsement of Mike Huckabee propelled the former Arkansas governor to the top tier of GOP candidates and resulted in his best fundraising day ever. He then appeared in an ad with Huckabee, who explained his answer to secure borders in America during a presidency would be two words: “Chuck … Norris.”
The ad, which has been viewed millions of times, still is popular online years after the GOP nominating process ultimately picked Arizona Sen. John McCain:
Norris continued, “That is why my wife Gena and I have committed the rest of our lives to help Old Glory rise again to her heights of splendor. And that is why we are endorsing and standing with Newt Gingrich, because we believe he can lead all of us who have committed to the same.”
Norris said the nation is under “assault” from “extremists outside our country and anti-constitutionalists inside our country.”
“President Obama has tried and failed miserably to fix our economy, deepening us and our posterity into more than six trillion dollars in additional national debt – something he criticized former President Bush for as ‘unpatriotic’ and ‘irresponsible.’ Yet unemployment rates remain at higher levels than when Obama was elected, and the dollar is as unstable as the Middle East. ”
Infighting and minutiae have no place in the argument, he said.
“Rome is burning, and we need to appoint the best firemen possible to rush in and put out her fury. What’s critical at this point is to appoint a commander-in-chief who can clearly lead America to a more solvent and secure future,” he said.
He doesn’t say everything about Gingrich is ideal.
“No man or candidate is perfect. We all have skeletons in our closet. If buried bones became unforgiveable bones of contention, the world would never know or will never know another Benjamin Franklin, King David, and others like them,” he said.
It was the National Journal that said a poll of its political insiders conducted recently revealed the favorite celebrity among Republicans to give their campaigns a “kick” is none other than WND commentator Chuck Norris.
A reported 46 percent of the Journal’s insiders named Norris as a welcome fighter in a Republican candidate’s corner.

STATEMENT: Michael Reagan Endorses Newt Gingrich

Newt Gingrich’s campaign released the following statement today from Michael Reagan:

I am endorsing Newt Gingrich for President and here’s why:

Newt understands that we must reject and fundamentally change the course that Barack Obama has set for America.

Newt is our only chance in 2012 to contrast a Reagan conservative with Obama’s European’ styled socialism.

Newt exemplifies the conservative principles my father championed.

Strong national defense, lower taxes and smaller government.

In the 90’s Newt’s leadership brought us the Contract with America which changed Washington.

I’m confident Newt can do it again.

We cannot afford a candidate backed by the same Washington insiders who repeatedly tried to undermine my father and the Reagan revolution.

It’s time to choose.

Do we go forward with bold ideas or continue with failed policies?

So I ask my fellow Republicans and conservatives to join me in supporting Newt Gingrich for president.

35 Romney endorsers received contributions first. Mitt takes the endorsement game "to a whole new level"

Money may not be buying Mitt Romney much Republican love, but it’s going a long way toward helping him buy the next best thing: endorsements in the GOP primaries.
Romney’s Free and Strong America PAC and its affiliates states have lavished close to $1.3 million in campaign donations to federal, state and local GOP politicians, almost all since 2010. His recipients include officials in the major upcoming primary states of New Hampshire and South Carolina, and in three southern Super Tuesday states where he was trounced four years ago.
In New Hampshire, a U.S. senator, a congressman, 10 state senators and three executive councilors shared $26,000 in donations from Romney’s Free and Strong America PAC in 2010 and 2011 combined. All 15 have showered Romney with endorsements leading up to Tuesday’s primary
South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley came out for Romney last month – a year after his Free and Strong America PACs funneled $36,000 to the Tea Party darling’s 2010 election bid. And 19 state and Washington, D.C., lawmakers in three Super Tuesday states – Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia — are backing Romney after his PAC poured a total of $125,500 into their coffers for elections held in 2009 and 2010.

Game Changer ??? Todd Palin Endorses Newt Gingrich

ABC News’ Santina Leuci and Z. Byron Wolf report:
Sarah Palin’s husband is endorsing Newt Gingrich for president, Todd Palin told ABC News today.
But Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor and John McCain’s 2008 Republican running mate, has yet to decide “who is best able to go up against Barack Obama,” Todd Palin said.
Palin said he has not spoken to Gingrich or anyone from the former House speaker’s campaign. But he said he respects Gingrich for what he went through in the 1990s and compared that scrutiny in public life to what Sarah Palin went through during her run for the vice presidency.
Todd Palin said he believes that being in the political trenches and experiencing the highs and lows help prepare a candidate for the future and the job of president.
He did not criticize any of the other candidates and said his “hat is off to everyone” in the Republican race.
But Todd Palin did point to last summer, when a large portion of Gingrich’s staff resigned and the candidate was left, largely by himself, to run the campaign.
Gingrich’s ability to overcome the obstacle and still move up in the polls showed his ability to campaign and survive, according to Todd Palin, who said Gingrich is not one of the typical “beltway types” and that his campaign has “burst out of the political arena and touched many Americans.”

I'm Not A Witch, I'm One Of Mitten's Kittens--Christine O'Donnell Endorses Romney

In an interview with Sean Hannity this evening, former Democratic Senatorial candidate, Christine O’Donnell, announced her support of the former Massachusetts Governor. TheAssociated Press reports:

Republican political figure and tea-party favorite Christine O’Donnell says she’s backing Mitt Romney’s presidential bid.

O’Donnell cites executive experience as part of her reason for endorsing Romney. She announced her decision Tuesday night during an interview on Fox News Channel.
O’Donnell gained national attention in 2010 with her bid for a Senate seat from Delaware. With tea party backing, she defeated an established Republican for the party’s nomination, former governor and longtime congressman Mike Castle. She then lost the general election to Democrat Chris Coons by a margin of 17 percentage points.
O’Donnell may be best known nationally for a campaign commercial in which she declared “I’m not a witch,” a response to a statement she’d made years earlier in which she said she’d dabbled in witchcraft.
ABC News reports the following written statement from Romney:

In a written statement, Romney welcomed the endorsement.

“Christine has been a leader in the conservative movement for many years,” Romney said. “Christine recognizes that excessive government threatens us now and threatens future generations, and I am pleased to have her on my team.
