Rush: Only War on Women is the GOP Elite War on Sarah Palin

Rush Limbaugh is accusing the GOP elite of waging a war on Palin, which I would say has been going on since the day she was launched onto the national stage.

Rush: Newt Under ‘Coordinated Attack’

A series of media hit pieces on Newt Gingrich that appear online today represent a “coordinated attack” on the Republican presidential candidate in the days leading up to Florida’s primary election, Rush Limbaugh said on his radio show.

Limbaugh cited the blog of Greg Sargent of The Plum Line, who wrote a story titled “Romney paints Gingrich as mentally unstable,” as well as a headline on the Drudge Report proclaiming, “Gingrich reportedly insulted Reagan.” He also denounced an article by Elliott Abrams of the National Review.

“This piece, Elliott Abrams, it just slices and dices with the most harmless tone,” Limbaugh said. “Obviously, it’s a coordinated document dump here, opposition-research dump. It’s obviously coordinated.”

The conservative talk-show host said he first heard about a new, young member of the House during Ronald Reagan’s first term. He remembered Gingrich tirelessly defending the president.

Limbaugh said he is “shocked,” years later, to learn from the media hit teams that Gingrich turned on Reagan.

“Now, all of this stuff that hit Drudge and everywhere else last night . . . I never heard any of that,” he said. “Newt did say this stuff — I just don’t remember it.

“This is obviously a coordinated attack that’s designed to take Newt out here in Florida,” said Limbaugh, who broadcasts from a studio in his home in Palm Beach. “I didn’t know any of this stuff . . . and I was shocked when I read all of it.”

Rush: Republican establishment in a full blown panic

The Republican Party establishment is in a “full-blown panic” following Newt Gingrich’s victory in the South Carolina primary and is “scared to death” his decisive win means President Barack Obama is going to prevail in November, Rush Limbaugh said Monday on his radio show.

“Now Newt has thrown this thing into a tizzy,” Limbaugh said. “They [the GOP establishment] don’t know what to do. They’re blaming all the wrong people. They’re blaming stupidity on the part of the voters — they haven’t the slightest idea why this happened in South Carolina.”

Limbaugh charged the Republican establishment doesn’t understand the current GOP base.

“I’ve been doing this show for 23 years, and one of my themes from the beginning — from 1988 — has been that the American conservative middle class are the ones playing by the rules,” he said, “and they’re laughed at, and they’re made fun of, and they are impugned everywhere they look,” he said.

Now, those voters want to fight back, Limbaugh said.

“The base of the Republican Party, the voters, have been bottling up for 25 years a resentment — an anger, if you will — that their party won’t fight for them,” he said. “When Newt gets teed up with these [debate] questions . . . and simply says what they’ve been thinking for 25 years, they say, ‘Finally!’

“What they want right now is fight back — what they want is push back,” Limbaugh continued. “What they want is kick back — what they want is smack down.”

Rush Calls for all Journalists to be Investigated Themselves !!!

The hoopla surrounding the ABC News interview with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich’s second ex-wife, Marianne Gingrich, has raised a question for conservative radio show host Rush Limbaugh: How come journalists aren’t held to the same standard they hold those they investigate to?
On his Thursday show, Limbaugh asked that question and said that it was appropriate to do so since the media is no longer just reporting, but passing judgment as well.
“That’s another thing, this always gets me — are journalists monogamous?” Limbaugh asked. “Are journalists faithful? Are they as clean and pure as the wind-driven snow? This is what has always fascinated me. These people — the sportswriter guys, the news media guys — they all get to sit in judgment as though they live perfect lives. And then when you try to turn the focus on them, ‘Oh no, no, no, no, no. I’m just a reporter. It doesn’t matter.’ It certainly does because you’re not reporting. You’re passing judgment.”
